As we enter this season of thanksgiving, I am reminded of how truly blessed we are to serve the students and families of Cullman County. November has a way of slowing us down just enough to notice the good around us—and this year, we certainly have something extraordinary to celebrate.
Our district has earned an all-time high state report card score of 91. This is more than a number; it’s the story of committed teachers, determined students, supportive families, and a community that believes deeply in the power of public education. It reflects countless early mornings, late evenings, and moments when our staff and community quietly went the extra mile because they knew a child needed them.
I’m incredibly proud—but even more grateful. Achievements like this don’t happen alone. They happen when a community locks arms and works together with purpose and faith. And while we celebrate this milestone, we also recognize that our mission continues. Scripture reminds us not to grow weary in doing good, for in due season we will reap a harvest. I believe we are beginning to see that harvest in Cullman County Schools.
As we look ahead, let’s continue striving for excellence with the same unity and optimism that brought us this far. Our students deserve nothing less, and their future is bright because of your partnership.
Thank you for believing in our schools, supporting our educators, and trusting us with the incredible privilege of shaping tomorrow’s leaders. May this month bring you peace, gratitude, and renewed purpose.

CCBOE Earns Its Highest Score Ever |
The Alabama State Department of Education released its annual state report card data on Thursday, November 13. Cullman County Schools earned an A for the second year in a row! Our district-wide average score is 91, which is the highest score we've ever had. In North Alabama, Cullman County Schools is tied with Madison County for the top score among county systems in the area.
"While everything that is learned throughout our school system cannot be measured with this score alone, I am extremely proud of our students, faculty, and staff for their hard work and dedication to continued improvement," said Dr. Shane Barnette, Cullman County School Superintendent. "An A on our State Report Card is further evidence of the great things happening every day throughout Cullman County. While we continue to improve I am excited about what the future holds for our students," said Dr. Barnette.
Visit reportcard.alsde.edu for more information. Congratulations to our teachers, administrators, and staff for a job well done!

Safeguarding Our Schools Technology in Action |
|
|
Our Technology Department has been hard at work enhancing safety, security, and efficiency across the district. Teams have continued installing new security cameras at multiple campuses, expanded the implementation of Centegix safety systems in partnership with our Human Resources department, and completed important network upgrades to strengthen connectivity district-wide. In addition, staff accounts are being updated to improve access and security, and development of a new, streamlined inventory system is underway.
These improvements support our ongoing commitment to providing a safe, reliable, and innovative learning environment for all students and staff.
